Kernel2 scientific research grade airborne multi-channel multi-spectral imager
Kernel2 is a research-grade airborne multispectral imager. Users can freely choose 6 module combinations from 26 kinds of spectral filters to obtain K4, K6, K8, K10 or K11 channel multispectral data; each camera module has Independent Linux computing function with independent sensors and onboard memory. Modules are connected together with links that distribute power and signals, allowing a single port for array communication. By building a powerful and customized multi-spectral camera array, users can adapt to various drones and meet diverse usage needs.
Kernel2 can be freely combined and used on various small and medium-sized multi-rotor or fixed-wing drones (generally, for larger measurement areas, such as more than 1 square kilometer, it is recommended to use fixed-wing drones); its kernel uses a powerful Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 processor, each component is designed to be easily disassembled, and can be matched according to the user's needs, and a variety of configurations can be easily combined to achieve different measurement functions, and each camera module can be replaced by itself sensors, lenses, and filters in the camera, and configure the camera software so that the image's embedded data matches the hardware configuration. This reduces overall product cost while allowing existing products to be kept updated.
Due to the fast image capture capabilities of Kernel2, its kernel supports PWM triggers, and it is also possible to directly trigger the sensor using relay (voltage) pulses. Connect to the UAVCAN port on the autopilot or CAN GNSS, automatically execute the camera command through the flight control system, allowing the core to save the data value and image data in the 128G pluggable microSD card at the same time.
