Why choose RedEdge-P:
Calibrated multispectral imageEach RedEdge-P camera kit comes with a reflective panel for ground calibration and a DLS2 light sensor for irradiance and sun angle measurements. These radiometric calibration tools account for varying weather and lighting conditions, providing more accurate and reliable data, enabling time series analysis and comparability of output over time.
Powerful AI CapabilitiesThanks to the panchromatic band, the RedEdge-P provides high-resolution RGB and multispectral imagery for machine learning applications such as plant counting and advanced vegetation research applications.
Compatible with a variety of drones and processing software The RedEdge-P SkyPort ensures perfect compatibility with DJI's M300 RTK drone. The camera also features an open API interface for easy integration with many popular drones and software platforms. |
Simultaneous capture of up to six bands supports multiple high-resolution outputs such as RGB, crop vigor index and composite (NDVI, NDRE, CIR) and high-resolution panchromatic.
User Driven DesignOur products are designed based on customer feedback. RedEdge-P features twice the spatial resolution of previous RedEdge models, faster capture rates and RTK support for the DJI M300 drone. | made in AmericaAll MicaSense Series sensors are designed, manufactured and engineered in the USA. |
Application fields:
disease identification
The RedEdge-P captures a critical part of the spectrum (712-722 nm) known as the red edge band for studying plants. It's in this part of the spectrum that the first signs of stress start to show. Using the analytics generated by the red fringe bands, diseases can be identified faster and action can be taken to stop the spread.
Phenotyping
Measuring plant properties manually is time-consuming. The RedEdge-P band combination enables high-resolution multispectral output, allowing detection of leaf-level variability.
species differentiation
Some differences between may not be visible to the naked eye. High-resolution multispectral data allow species differentiation, including weeds, by highlighting traits such as chlorophyll content, vigor, and leaf size.
Plant Health Mapping
The high-resolution multispectral output of the RedEdge-P allows the generation of indices and composites to view individual chlorophyll levels in plants and compare them over time.
Advanced Crop Scouting
High-resolution multispectral and RGB imagery provides advanced field reconnaissance capabilities. In a single flight, accurate and geo-tagged information on the problem can be collected, making it easy to assess the situation and determine appropriate interventions.
fertilizer management
The high resolution and accurate output of the RedEdge-P makes it easy to identify low nutrient areas and helps monitor the effectiveness of fertilizer applications throughout the season and determine if, when and where new applications are required.
High-Resolution 3D Point Clouds
The RedEdge-P's 5.1-megapixel panchromatic band provides more than twice the ground resolution of the industry-standard RedEdge-MX, resulting in 3D point clouds with up to four times the point density.

DLS2 light sensorThe Downwelling Light Sensor (DLS 2) is an advanced incident light sensor. It measures ambient light and sun angle in each of the camera's five multispectral bands. Specialized processing tools can then use this information to correct for changes in global illumination during flight, such as those that may occur due to clouds covering the sun. | CRP2 reflectorThe Calibrated Reflectance Panel (CRP2) is a compact terrestrial radiation calibration tool. This panel has pre-measured reflectance values in the visible and near-infrared spectrum and thus acts as a "control". Taking a photo of the calibration panel allows you to assign known reflectance values and adjust the dataset accordingly during postprocessing. As a best practice, CRP images should be captured before and after each flight to accurately represent the lighting conditions during the flight. |
